viii, 382 pp. plus ads for other works by the author. Brown cloth boards, embossed upper and lower, are worn, especially along top edges. Corners are bumped and a little frayed. Spine is sunned and rubbed (through to board at one small spot along upper joint). Ends of spine are worn, torn and frayed. Brown eps are beginning to tear along the hinges, but the hinges themselves are solid, as is the binding throughout. Prev. owner's inked name to front flyleaf has been lightly scribbled over. (Another) prev. owner's name is stamped to front flyleaf and title page. Other than a few lightly pencilled lines to the margins, the book is internally unmarked. Preface is dated Tamuz 5636. "Being specimens of the contents of that ancient book, its commentaries, teachings, poetry, and legends. Also, brief sketches of the men who made and commented upon it."
